The Caesar Shift is a simple cipher in which each letter in the plaintext is shifted a certain number of places down the alphabet. The Roman general Gaius Julius Caesar used the method to communicate with the senator Cicero. He used a shift by 3 points. In this application, the shift value can be chosen freely.
